Streamlining Workflows for Green Economy Financing

Inclusive Prosperity Capital (IPC) exists at the intersection of green energy finance, community development, and climate impact. They believe the benefits of the green economy should be accessible to everyone, and work to close the financing gap that prevents equal access. IPC addresses this gap by increasing access to capital for low-to-moderate income communities, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, housing authorities, schools and small businesses. Through a suite of financing products and a network of partners, they aim to reduce the energy burden on residents, improve the health and resiliency of homes and help businesses and nonprofits in distressed communities.

Purpose

Inclusive Prosperity Capital is experiencing rapid growth and needed a solution to scale its operations. Much of their work was managed in spreadsheets or offline systems. To facilitate their expansion, they required a system that would manage all financing programs through efficient, streamlined workflows.

Project Details

Craftsman’s Community Development team deployed Salesforce to meet their needs. The environment was configured to manage the unique financing programs offered by IPC. Lead capture was enhanced through branded online forms, which removed the need for manual entry by feeding information directly into the system. The lead queue was also moved to Salesforce for the efficient processing of inbound inquiries. A streamlined origination workflow was put into place spanning applicant intake to contract. Standardized activities were used to advance the application through the workflow. Document templates were created and stored in Salesforce to facilitate document collection and execution. Reports and dashboards were created to easily track applications and measure impact.

Ongoing Partnership

Craftsman was later engaged by IPC for a second project to create a self-service portal. The portal was built on Salesforce Communities to serve two key IPC stakeholders: contractors and program partners. Through the portal, they would have the ability to edit personal information, view application status and complete required actions related to applications or projects. Craftsman continues to support IPC as its Salesforce partner focused on enabling system growth, maintaining a steady state of operations and responding to support needs as they arise.

Tools + Technology

IPC’s core system is a custom-built Salesforce solution based on Craftsman’s knowledge in the sector. FormAssembly is integrated for online applications. Salesforce Communities is leveraged for the self-service portal.
