Our partnership with CTG is incredible. We have been able to accomplish goals and achieve results in record time. The CTG team brings technical expertise and creativity to complex problem solving. Most of all the team prioritizes customer service and responsiveness. They are like an extension of our staff and truly gain an understanding of the goals for the organization. During our largest fundraiser of the year I knew CTG staff were ready to troubleshoot and find solutions to help us streamline our event registration this support means so much for our small team.

Celebrating Ability w/ Nonprofit Success Pack

Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR) brings year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through the challenges and triumphs of real competition, we serve Oregon’s largest disability population by celebrating their abilities. And by competing, athletes experience life-changing opportunities to improve physical fitness, learn everyday life skills and connect more closely to their communities.

Purpose

Special Olympics of Oregon moved to Salesforce in mid-2019 to track their fundraising efforts and revenue. With a small fundraising team executing four large events a year, there’s a need for consistent processes to meet the fundraising goals. A key component is clean reconciliation with the Finance department to ensure that revenue in Salesforce is tracked appropriately. Additionally, three of the large events are peer-to-peer fundraisers so community supporters need a seamless process that feeds data into Salesforce so the SOOR staff can track progress in real time.  The ultimate goal with Salesforce is making sure that community fundraisers, the internal fundraising team, and the accounting department all have a clear view of the fundraising events.

Managed Services

Craftsman’s Managed Services team began working with the development team at Special Olympics Oregon in August 2020. With a new development team building new development processes, the Special Olympics of Oregon’s team utilized CTG’s deep knowledge of Salesforce and integration tools to bring their vision of fundraising processes to life. The CTG team got to work creating documentation for standard processes including duplicate review, acknowledgement processes, campaign hierarchy, data imports, and reports and dashboards to show fundraising progress, and reconciliation. Additionally, the CTG team created flows and processes to track sponsorship benefits for their many event sponsors. All of the small, day to day tasks are crucial to the overall success of the events and the organization, so CTG works to make those day to day tasks seamless and integrated.

Tools + Technology

Special Olympics of Oregon uses Nonprofit Starter Pack (NPSP) and relies heavily on Campaigns and GAU Allocations to support Accounting’s reconciliation. Additional tools include Classy for events and peer to peer fundraising, Apsona to support expanded reporting needs, gift entry, and acknowledgement and sponsorship generation, and Duplicate Check to keep a careful review of duplicates to ensure a clean database of constituents and opportunities.
