Solution Architect (Salesforce)

Boston, MA (hybrid) or virtual (US)

We are seeking a Solutions Architect to join our Technical Services team who will bring these same values and passion to help nonprofit organizations. A Solutions Architect is a client-facing full-time salaried intermediate-to-senior-level position.

Job Summary:

Handling some of the most complex systems and structures in our clients’ Salesforce instances, you will take an active role from scoping, to solution design through build and deployment of our nonprofit clients’ projects. You will participate in data migrations, leveraging SQL and other technologies to map, transform and load data into Salesforce from a wide range of source systems. You will also work closely with our Managed Services team addressing acute technical issues and identify new areas to add value for our clients.

You will be responsible for building and deploying new solutions and improving existing ones leveraging declarative Salesforce tools, Apex, JavaScript, additional third-party technologies and API’s. Ultimately, you will be responsible for contributing to technical and development best practices across the firm and support holistic solutions to help our nonprofit clients achieve their missions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Professional Services, Managed Services and service delivery staff with complex technical requirements
  • Lead and/or perform project build, deployment and serve as a resource during requirements gathering and/or design
  • Support Managed Services as needed through providing an escalation path for technical work
  • Integrate external systems with Salesforce leveraging common API protocols (e.g., REST, SOAP)
  • Develop custom solutions leveraging Apex, Lightning Components, JavaScript and other Salesforce platform tools
  • Create technical solutions based on client requirements, knowledge of best practices, and a creative use of available resources
  • Understand and articulate when and how to use declarative vs. developer tools and solutions.
  • Present and explain solutions to clients in written documents, face-to-face, and/or using video conferencing, working with the client to refine solutions as requested
  • Manage internal and client-facing testing sessions, and the issues resolution process
  • Document client solutions and overall system architecture
  • Contribute to the Craftsman knowledge base by documenting successful solutions and lessons learned

Required Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Developer 1 and at least one other advanced Salesforce certification
  • 2 or more years’ of Salesforce Administration/Development experience including product/solution deployment experience
  • Salesforce development skills leveraging Apex, Lightning Components, and/or Visualforce
  • Strong understanding of integration and architecture best-practices leveraging declarative tools and common API protocols (e.g., REST, SOAP)
  • Strong problem-solving, creative thinking skills and a commitment to life-long learning
  • Flexibility to travel on occasion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Salesforce Certifications, such as Platform Developer 2, Solutions Architect, etc.
  • Knowledge and aptitude around advanced administrative tools and features of the Salesforce platform
  • Understanding of software development best-practices
  • hands-on experience developing solutions that bring together configuration, declarative development and traditional software development.

Salary:

$100,000 – $140,000
